Tailoring - Ladies’ Wear
Learning the tailor’s know-how while working on the student’s own measurements. Basic cutting technique, followed by the study of patterns for skirts, trousers, blouses and dresses. Placed on fabric, cut, hand-sewn. Combinations of fabrics and colours. Study of materials.
Industrial Patterns – Ladies’ Wear
Industrial pattern-making, based on Italian standard size 44. With fashion trends in mind, an industrial  collection is put together. Students are taught patterns of skirts, trousers and jackets. All basic cuts  and patterns of tailored garments follow, such as blazers, coats, raincoats etc. Cardboard patterns are placed on fabrics and cut, technical records on style and fabric consumption filed. Machine sewing. Charts on the use of fabrics and the styles in the collection. Sourcing.
Industrial Size Grading – Ladies’ Wear
For industrial staff. Next to controlling the basic size, the grading of patterns for current sizes (Italian 40-50) are taught in various systems for the patterns that the students have learnt in the course of Industrial Patterns. The prototypes that had been produced there will be used for the purpose. Pattern layout on fabric and cutting. Technical recording of style and consumption, study of costs. Machine-sewn. Analysis of the fabric and garment chart of the collection.
Ladies’ Wear Design – 1st Year
Basic course starting with anatomy, nudes and positions, then moving to technical design of garments. History of clothing since prehistory to Middle Ages and its updating. Study of colours and explanation of painting techniques. Research and setting-up of trend panels. Accessories. Combination of garments within a collections: skirts, trousers, blouses, underwear, beachsuits, lingerie, sportswear and ready-to-wear teaming fabrics and/or
leather.
Ladies’ Wear Design – 2nd Year
Here, students develop their knowledge of anatomy and technical design of garments and produce  fashion sketches. History of clothing referring also to architecture, painting and sculture from Middle  Ages to 1800 and its up-dating. After study of the latest fashion trends, they set up a chart for a collections of skirts, trousers and dresses teamed with blouses and knits. Traditional and casual ranges with fabric combinations. Accessories. Research and setting-up of company image panels.
Men’s and Children’s Wear Design – 3rd Year
Intensive course of men’s, boys’ and girls’ anatomy, nudes and positions. Technical sketches of men’s and children’s clothing. Fashion history from 1800 until today’s designers. Charts of technical and brand collections. Study of materials and accessories.
Technical Designer Ready–to–Wear
A prerequisite for this course is the study of the two cycles of three-year courses on Fashion Design and Pattern-Making. It is meant for students who wish to launch their own collection or work as chief designer for a fashion company. Study of fashion trends, research of materials, preparation of brand image and exhibition panels for fairs. Analysis of the client’s image and position on the market. Design of a range and its presentation. The checking of patterns, cutting, sizes, sewing methods, control of fabric consumption, costing calculations. Records on ’spec’ sheets, introduction to book-keeping.
Industrial Pattern-Making – Men’s Wear
For industrial staff. Based on Italian size 48. Bearing in mind fashion trends, an industrial collection is worked out covering the whole range of garments, including jackets and coats. Pattern layout and cutting. Technical records on style and consumption, machine sewing. Fabric research and collection charts. Sourcing.
Industrial Size Grading – Men’s Wear
For industrial staff. Apart from the control of the basic pattern, graphs are learned for the right up-grading of sizes (Italian standards 44-56) following the various methods learned in the course for industrial pattern-making - men's wear. Layout of patterns on fabric mattress. Technical records on style and consumption, costing. Machine sewing. Fabric research and collection charts.
Industrial Pattern-Making – Children’s Wear
For industrial staff. Dedicated to age 02 through 10. Study of fashion trends, then creation of an industrial collection. All types of garments for boys and girls are analysed including considerations on children’s anatomy. Layout of patterns on fabric and cutting. Technical records of style and consumption. Machine sewing. Fabric research and collection charts. Sourcing.
Industrial Size Grading – Children’s Wear
For industrial staff. Apart from the control of the basic pattern, charts are produced in order to determine the right size (age 02 through 10) of all the systems studied in the industrial sise grading for children's wear. Confrontation of wearability between the basic and the following sizes. Layout on fabric and cutting. Technical ’spec’ sheets on style and consumption. Costing. Machine sewing. Fashion Pattern-Making Expert
For industrial staff. Bearing in mind the changing fashion trends, new variations of basic patterns in ladies’ wear are introduced and used for industrial prototypes. Layout of patterns on fabric and cutting. Machine sewing. Fabric research and collection charts. Sourcing.
Technical Designer of Historial Costumes
A specialized tailoring course for students interested in producing historical and/or theatrical costumes. An historical period of particular interest is analysed in accordance with the students’ wishes and the patterns and making-up studied. Next to fabric research, much attention is given to embroidery, trimmings and special workmanship. Technical records.
Comparison of Tailor-Made, Boutique and
Industrial Ready-to-Wear
Analysis of the differences between tailor-made garments and industrial production. Bearing in mind the trend evolution and the market situation, styles are created and produced according to various techniques for the three levels of fashion products: Tailor-Made, Boutique and Industrial Ready-to-Wear. Layout of patterns on fabric, cutting. Technical records of the various products, their costing, possible consumer price and market results. Fabric research and collection charts. Sourcing.
Footwear and leatherware courses
Shoe Design and Pattern Making
The course is divided in two parts: design and pattern-making/construction. The first one begins with in-depth examination of the anatomy of the foot and its stability, followed by the study of historical footwear and its up-dating. Research of fashion trends, preparation of trend panels for fairs. Basic charts of a ladies’ and men’s range, the latter according to various styling patterns, later with the addition of fashion in-puts. Technical records. Sourcing. Costing, Marketing.
CAD Footwear
Specialized course focusing on the pattern-making of footwear by using a CAD computer system. This way, the students can create their own style or modify an existing one. It also teaches the students to scan lasts in the development of their fashion ideas.
Digital Footwear Design
Using the Photoshop program for Windows, the students learn to create digital images starting from either a sketch, a last, the actual shoe or from a 3D CAD image. The system enables the students to work on the image trying colourways, materials and accessories in order to obtain the best result suiting their idea of a style. Photo techniques, colour theory, e-mail and essential Window functions are also taught.
Handbags Design and Pattern-Making
The course is divided in two parts: design and pattern-making/construction. In its first part, history of fashion and its up-dating are studied including the designing of various types of ladies’ handbags. Research of fashion trends and creation of trend panels for fairs. Design of styles and whole ranges. Sourcing. Resarch of accesories. The second part of the course is concerned with the various patterns of handbags, both soft and hard, starting from basic styling later developed with fashion in-put. Study of proportions. Technical records. Costing. Marketing.
CAD Leather goods
Specialized course teaching the use of various patterns thanks to the program Mozart. Cardboard patterns can be made starting from an idea, a sketch or an existing basis down to the cutting process of a three-dimension (3D) pattern. Model specification sheets, consumption calculation, e-mail and essential Window functions are also taught.
Digital Handbags Design
Using the Photoshop program for Windows, this course teaches how to create digital images for design purposes. Starting from either a sketch, the bag or from the 3D CAD image, this system creates pictures allowing the student to add or modify colours, accessories or alter proportions. A virtual collection is gradually developed into prototypes. Photo techniques, colour theory, e-mail and essential Windows functions are also taught.

Fur Design and Pattern-Making
The course consists of the study of basic patterns and styling for ladies’ fur coats. It includes patterns, grading, gussetting, costing, consumption records on ’spec’ sheets and information on basic manufacturing techniques concerning fur. In addition, different types of fur and its treatments as well as basic marketing principles are studied.
Ladies’ Underwear Design and Pattern-Making
The course is divided in two parts: design and practical application. The first includes anatomy as well as history of underwear and the latest fashion trends. Trend panels are produced and students propose swatched designs for their own collections. The second part of the course concentrates on patterns of underwear, lingerie, nightwear and homewear, starting with basic styling followed by the in-put of new trends. Sourcing and study of trimming and embroidery.
Ladies’ Beachwear Design and Pattern-Making
The course is divided in two parts: design and practical application. The first includes anatomy as well as history of bathing suits and the latest fashion trends. Trend panels are produced and students propose swatched designs for their own collections.The second part of the course concentrates on patterns of beachwear: basic and trendy styles. Accessories such as hats and bags are also included. Sourcing and study of trimmings.
Knitwear Design and Pattern-Making
Dedicated to men’s and ladies’ knitwear. Starting with basic patterns, the students analyse the evolution of trends. They learn basic knitting techniques and fancy stitches using at first flat hand machines, then electronic equipment. Prototypes. Trend panels. Study of yarn types and resulting knits. Sourcing. Shade-cards. Production and consumption records. Costing.
Millinery Design and Pattern-Making
For whoever considers headwear as a timeless part of fashion: hats as part of the general fashion history. Basic designs, later fancy styles. Traditional hats modelled or not on a head. The student’s own designs according to new trends, also intended for fashion shows. Study of materials, manufacture and trimming. Accessories for the bride and for social events.
